Our Mission
The BedZed Pavilion, situated off London Road ( Helios Road which leads to Sandmartin Way in Hackbridge is a large terracotta building next to the Merrywood School. It is run by Communities First, a charitable organisation registered with the Charities Commission( No.1117143)
The complex consists of an administration office, a Small Mezzanine Hall and a larger Hall situated on the 1st Floor which is also accessible by Lift. It also houses a resident managed Community Cafe and a commercial kitchen. These facilities are available to hire for corporate or private functions.
The venue is under new management who took over operations in February 2022. Our aim is manage a community building which provides high quality facilities and a range of activities, that is accessible to all sections of the local community.
We will strive to continuously develop and update the building, to meet the changing needs and expectations of the community, both now and in the future.
We will provide accommodation for local community groups and public sector organisations in order to enhance local services for residents, particularly for those people who are disadvantaged, vulnerable or who face difficulties accessing provision appropriate to their particular needs and circumstances. And we want to be a place for hire for well managed social events and functions by private individuals and organisations.
Finally, we wish to develop activities that increase participation in civic life, including through providing local residents with opportunities for self-development, volunteering and involvement in local decision-making. We will work closely with the Residents Association to achieve this.
